Itinerary
Day 1 - Home - The Berkshires
Spend the day in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. It is here that you will explore some of the “forgotten” gems of the area.
Called a “glistening community gem,” the Berkshire Botanical Gardens encompass 15 acres of cultivated land. The public display gardens are both functional and ornamental, and are among the oldest in the US. Ask us about special events going on at the Berkshire Botanical Gardens.
Enjoy lunch at Michael’s Restaurant. In 1980, the Stockbridge Inn building was purchased and completely renovated inside and out by The Abdallas. As the Restaurant took shape, many a fancy name was debated over until the simplest name was decided upon. On May 1, 1981 Michael’s Restaurant and Lounge was born.
Spend some time touring Chesterwood, the country home, studio and gardens of Daniel Chester French who is America’s foremost sculptor of public monuments. Some of his works include: Minute Man, and Abraham Lincoln for the Lincoln Memorial. In his studio, you’ll see plaster sketches of some of French’s pieces.
