Spend a day in Rhode Island at Blithewold estate on this Day Trip, featuring: a guided mansion tour and a Daffodil Days celebration!
Itinerary
Day 1 - Newport, RI
Head to Rhode Island for the day! Start the day in Bristol which is a classic New England seaside town that is steeped in history and is home to the oldest Independence Day celebration in the country.
Enjoy lunch at the Lobster Pot. Since 1929, the Lobster Pot has provided Rhode Islanders with the very best in dining experiences.
After lunch, head over to Blithewold, which is a 33-acre summer estate with grand views of Narragansett Bay. The property features a 45-room mansion filled with family heirlooms framed by a series of lovely gardens that range in character from mysterious to exotic and from poetic to practical. Enjoy the guided tour of the mansion. After the tour, sip on a complimentary lemonade. Come…and be inspired!
As you will be visiting in April, you will have the pleasure of participating in Daffodil Days. Tens of thousands of brilliant yellow daffodils trumpet the arrival of spring at Blithewold (if daffodils are not cooperative, don’t fret, there will be other things for you to look at).
Spend some time in the late afternoon in Newport. It is here that you will have free-time to explore the shops, watch the boats, or just relax.
