Day 1 - Home - Boylston, MA
Garden in the Woods is a naturalistic botanic garden of rare and common native plants, set on 45 acres. Two miles of paths meander over glacier-sculpted ridges and through narrow valleys, a pond, a wooded bog, several springs, and a brook bring a diversity of wildlife into the garden. We will have a guided tour of the gardens. Be sure to bring your camera for the wonderful plants!
Don’t forget to visit the Garden Shop where you can buy plants, gift cards, books, garden ornaments, and much more! We will enjoy a boxed lunch in this beautiful setting. Meal Choices are: Honey ham and Swiss cheese on a bulkie roll, Oven roasted turkey and cheddar on Country wheat, Rare roast beef and Havarti on multi-grain bread, Caprese Tomato (Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella) on focaccia, Hummus with sprouts on multi-grain, Chicken Caesar Salad or a Garden Salad. All boxed lunches come with chips, mayo and mustard packets, salad dressing, chocolate chip cookie, fruit and a bottle of water, soda or tea.
After lunch we are headed to Tower Hill Botanical Garden. With 17 distinct gardens on more than 130 acres, much of it preserved as woodland and open space, Tower Hill is dedicated to the cultivation and display of some of the most exquisite plants in the world.
