Day 1 - West Point, NY
Today’s tour will tell the story of West Point, its role in the Revolution, its famous history, along with stories about graduates who shaped our nation. The tour will bring the Long Gray Line to the present as you learn of the cadet experience and West Point’s continuing role in training the leaders of tomorrow. This tour of West Point makes stops at Cadet Chapel, the Plain which is the Cadet academic area, and Trophy Point with the million-dollar view overlooking the Hudson River.
Lunch is served buffet style at The Thayer Hotel which is on the grounds of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Set on a hilltop overlooking the Hudson River, the Thayer Hotel at West Point is a national historic landmark. Your lunch is an elegant buffet of salads, hot entrees, vegetable, starch, dessert, coffee & tea.
After lunch, we will head to the Boscobel House for a guided tour. Their delightful, expert guides will lead the group on a private tour of Boscobel’s iconic landscape that explores the cultural and historical significance of Boscobel’s “million dollar view,” overlooking the Hudson Highlands, Constitution Marsh, the historic U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the majestic Hudson River itself.
