Itinerary
Day 1 - Boston, MA
Your journey today starts at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston! The museum, which bears her name also stands as a testament to her vision. Isabella Stewart Gardner, known also as “Mrs. Jack” in reference to her husband, John L. (“Jack”) Gardner, was one of the foremost female patrons of the arts. She was a patron and friend of leading artists and writers of her time. She was a supporter of community social services and cultural enrichment. Isabella Stewart Gardner was also the visionary creator of what remains one of the most remarkable and intimate collections of art in the world today and a dynamic supporter of artists of her time. The museum also is known for an Art Heist that happened 30 years ago and still is unsolved! Today, we will experience a guided “Grand Tour” which explores the masterpieces of the museum, and you will find out why this is one of the greatest private art collections in America!
After the tour, you will enjoy the smells and tastes of wonderful Italian cuisine at Maggiano’s Restaurant. Your menu is served family-style and will include: Fresh Baked Breads, Coffee, Tea, Soft Drinks, Bruschetta, Salad, Tomato Caprese, Lasagna with Meat, Chicken Marsala, Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia, Fresh Fruit, and Tiramisu.
Spend some time at the Marketplace at Faneuil Hall for some free-time to enjoy the unique shops, get something to eat, or just relax. Faneuil Hall Marketplace is actually four great places in one location - Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, North Market and South Market, all set around a cobblestone promenade where jugglers, magicians and musicians entertain the passers-by. So, by all means, stroll, shop, eat, laugh, wander, wonder and explore it all.
