Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Fairbanks, Alaska
Upon arrival in Fairbanks, we will be transferred to our hotel, Bear Lodge, which will be your home for two evenings. A welcome dinner waits, then we will partake in a private tour of the Fountainhead Auto Museum. (D)
Day 2 - Fairbanks, Alaska
This morning, following breakfast, we will embark on a day of touring in Fairbanks. The morning starts with a tour down the Chena River onboard the Riverboat Discovery. Following the Riverboat Discovery, we will visit Trail Breaker Kennel for a demonstration on dog sledding and trail lifestyle. Be sure to play with some of the puppies! Lunch will be included in this event. This evening, enjoy the Alaska Salmon Bake and Palace Theater show before returning to the Bear Lodge for one more evening. (B, L, D)
Day 3 - Fairbanks - Denali National Park
We will enjoy breakfast onboard the train as we travel from Fairbanks to Denali National Park. The group will be travelling via private Alaska Railroad domed car in Goldstar service. We will experience an exclusive lunch with James Beard Nominee, Chef Laura Cole of 229 Parks. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure. On your own time, try adding on a helicopter excursion, ATV experience, zipline or rafting trip. Later, we will check into our rooms at the Denali Bluff’s Riverview rooms featuring it’s own private balcony. The remainder of the afternoon and evening is at your leisure. (B, L)
Day 4 - Denali National Park
Early this morning, we will embark on the gem of your trip to Alaska, the visit to Denali National Park. Board a park bus for a group exclusive traveling 95 miles into the heart of Denali National park visiting Kantishna and Denali BackCountry Lodge. We will be on one of the first buses into the park to allow for more wildlife viewing. Enjoy lunch before returning to the parks entrance. Enjoy a second evening over in Denali. (B, L)
Day 5 - Devil's Canyon - Anchorage
This morning, we will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before boarding onto the motorcoach to travel to Talkeenta, our home for the evening. Upon arrival, board the unforgettable experience including beauty and vast wilderness on a five-hour river tour with Mahay’s Jet Boat Adventures. The 130-mile round trip river excursion through Denali State Park and into the nationally registered Wild River Park of “Devil’s Gorge” will offer a safe, dry and comfortable way to experience whitewater adventures. Please note these are covered and enclosed jet boats and a snack lunch is provided. Following the return, enjoy the views from the south side of Denali National Park as we make our way toward Anchorage. We will overnight at The Hotel Captain Cook downtown. (B, L)
Day 6 - Anchorage
Today, enjoy a leisurely morning in Anchorage with breakfast at out hotel. This day is free for you to spend it however you would like! (B)
Day 7 - Seward
Early this morning, we will head to Seward. Along the way, we will stop in Whittier where we will board a private vessel for a luxurious lunch, glacier and wildlife cruise. Spend the afternoon continuing south to your accommodations for the night located right on the harbor. (B, L)
Day 8 - Seward - Anchorage
This morning, embark on a visit to Kenai Fjords National Park. Enjoy a morning departure with brunch onboard. On return to Seward, experience the best train ride in Alaska, including Seward to Anchorage through Turnigan Arm. A farewell dinner will be served onboard. We will spend one more evening in Anchorage. (B, L, D)
Day 9 - Anchorage
Today we say goodbye to Alaska and all the fond memories we made as we transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)
