Day 1 - Arrive Cape May, NJ
This morning is an early morning departure to Victorian Cape May. For nearly 160 years, Cape May has been one of the most popular seaside resorts in America. It was the vacation spot of choice for the rich and famous in the 1800’s, and its’ turn of the century Victorian splendor is unmatched. Today, lovely Cape May still captivates visitors with its Victorian grandeur. The entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places, and it is this very fact that sets Cape May apart from everywhere else on the New Jersey shore. We will spend two nights at The Grand Hotel Oceanfront, on scenic Beach Drive. This popular hotel overlooks Cape May’s famous Atlantic Ocean beaches. Enjoy cocktails, included at our hotel, followed by dinner in the grand Cape May tradition at the Union Park Restaurant. (D)
Day 2 - Cape May
Breakfast is included at the Grand Hotel, before heading out this morning to experience the Victorian side of Cape May. Beginning with a guided tour that includes the Emlen Physick Estate, a glimpse into a bygone era, including a visit to the Carriage House Art Gallery on the Estate grounds. View the Cape May Lighthouse on Delaware Bay and learn all about famous Cape May Diamonds that are found on the beach. We will also learn about Cape May’s unique architectural styles and folklore and of course, no trip would be complete without a visit to the Washington Street Mall. It’s a nostalgic, old fashioned Main Street. Here we will also take a Trolley ride. Tonight, enjoy dinner at Cape May’s popular Sapore Italian Restaurant. (B, D)
Day 3 - Depart Cape May
This morning, we can enjoy a leisurely quiet morning, which includes breakfast, before we are off to nearby Egg Harbor, NJ. Here, we will have a guided tour and tasting at Renault Winery, with lunch included. This afternoon finds us winding our way back home. (B, L)
