Itinerary
Day 1 - Historic Cape May
Depart 7:00 am from the Springfield area. Today we’ll travel to the Southern tip of New Jersey to Cape May. Where for 160 years Cape May has been one of the most popular seaside resorts in America. Dating all the way back to the 1850’s Cape May was the vacation spot of choice for the rich and famous, and its’ turn of the century Victorian splendor is unmatched. Even today lovely Cape May captivates visitors with its Victorian grandeur. This entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the Victorian Holiday decorations are a treat to see. We’ll spend two nights at THE GRAND HOTEL oceanfront on scenic Beach Drive. This popular hotel overlooks Cape May’s famous Atlantic Ocean beaches. Enjoy cocktails included at our hotel followed by DINNER in the grand Cape May tradition at the Washington Inn. (Dinner & Cocktails)
Day 2 - Victorian Cape May
Breakfast is included at the Grand Hotel and this morning we’ll set out to experience the Victorian side of Cape May. We’ll begin with a guided tour through the Emlen Physick Estate, a glimpse into a bygone era. We’ll also visit the Carriage House Art Gallery on the Estate grounds, view Cape May Lighthouse on Delaware Bay and learn all about famous Cape May Diamonds that are found on the beach. We’ll also admire Cape May’s unique architectural styles and folklore. Of course, no trip to Cape May would be complete without a visit to the Washington Street Mall that runs through the center of town. It’s a nostalgic, old fashioned Main Street, the way shopping used to be. There will also be a Trolley ride through the streets of Cape May. Tonight enjoy DINNER at Cape May’s popular Union Park Restaurant. (Breakfast & Dinner)
Day 3 - Manhattan: Radio City Christmas Spectacular
A full breakfast is again included at the Grand and then we’re off for New York City. Lunch will be included at the famous Chart House at Lincoln Harbor with a magnificent view of Manhattan across the river. This is a sight you will never forget. After lunch we’ll take our seats in Radio City Music Hall, The Showplace of the Nation, for the 2017 Christmas Spectacular. Breakfast at the beach followed by a grand lunch at the Chart House followed by an afternoon with the high stepping Rockettes at Radio City in New York. What a grand conclusion to our holiday tour.
